Welcome to Lán Ink Studio — where the traditional Chinese calligraphy meets the timeless beauty of tattoo art.

In Chinese, “Lán” (兰 / 蓝 / 澜) carries layers of meaning — orchid, blue, gentle waves — all symbols of grace, tranquility, and quiet strength. Paired with the timeless beauty of ink, it represents what I believe in: elegance, meaning, and individuality.

Lán Ink Studio was created with one simple belief:

A tattoo is more than an image. It’s a story — a piece of soul written in ink.


Our Story (or my story)

Lán Ink Studio is a one-person studio founded and run by…me (😆) — a lifelong calligraphy enthusiast and artist.

I began learning Chinese calligraphy as a child, guided by traditional brush techniques that have been passed down for generations. Over the years, what started as a quiet hobby grew into a deep artistic passion.

As tattoo culture blossomed globally, I saw a beautiful bridge between two worlds — the elegance of Chinese characters and the power of tattoos as personal expressions.

That’s how Lán Ink Studio was born: to bring authentic, handwritten Chinese calligraphy designs to anyone who seeks meaning, beauty, and cultural depth in their tattoo.


My Calligraphy Journey

  • Started training in traditional Chinese calligraphy in childhood, mastering brush strokes and classical character forms.
  • Years of practice in various script styles, but clerical script style (隶书) is my favorite one.
  • Dedicated to preserving cultural authenticity while blending it with modern minimalism for tattoo designs.
  • I personally handwrite every character and manage the entire creative process — from concept to final digital design.

Every piece on this site carries the unique rhythm of a real brush — not a font, not generated by AI.


Why I Work Solo

Lán Ink Studio is run by me alone — from calligraphy creation to digital preparation, from replying to messages to uploading new designs. (And I also created the whole website, designed every single poster and coded every single line to make sure it run smoothly)

This allows me to:

  • Maintain full artistic quality and cultural authenticity.
  • Communicate directly with every client.
  • Put my heart into each design — whether it’s a pre-made piece or a custom commission.

All tattoo designs, artworks, and calligraphy displayed on this website are original handwritten creations by Lán Ink Studio. Lán Ink Studio retains full copyright ownership of all designs, including those sold under personal-use licenses.


Tattoo Design License Policy

1. Personal Tattoo License (included with each purchase)

When you purchase a tattoo design from Lán Ink Studio, you are granted a non-transferable, personal-use license to use the design for a single tattoo on your own body.

  • ✔️ You may bring the purchased design file to your tattoo artist to be inked once.
  • ❌ You may not share, resell, reproduce, modify, or distribute the design in any form.
  • ❌ Your tattoo artist may not use the design for other clients without a separate commercial license.

2. Studio / Artist License (for tattoo professionals)

Tattoo studios and artists who wish to use Lán Ink Studio designs for commercial tattooing must purchase a studio license or enter into a partnership agreement.

  • ✔️ This license allows you to tattoo the design on multiple clients, with proper credit.
  • ✔️ Additional customization or exclusivity options are available upon request.

3. Preview Images

All preview images on this website are protected by copyright and displayed at reduced resolution.

  • Screenshots or use of preview images without a license is considered copyright infringement.
  • Unauthorized use may result in legal action or DMCA takedown notices.

Lán Ink Studio reserves the right to enforce its intellectual property rights through legal means, DMCA takedowns, and removal requests.

Every calligraphy design is created by hand with care, skill, and cultural respect. By purchasing a license, you support independent art and ensure that these designs can continue to exist for everyone to enjoy.
